Why do I teach in a "lighthearted and playful" way?
Just do an internet search for "health benefits of laughter" and you will see why.
One of the biggest takeaways from my Comprehensive Yoga Therapy training was the healing power of laughter. There are scientifically proven physical and mental benefits to laughter. These benefits include but are not limited to: boosting the immune system, lowering blood pressure, improving mood and reducing stress hormones in the brain.
Just take a moment and think about how good it feels to really laugh. Life as a human can be very serious and stressful. Self care time should be anything but those things. In order to support your physical and mental health carving out time for self care is vital. Anything used as a self care practice should be enjoyable so you keep coming back.
This is why I teach in a lighthearted and playful way- to spread joy and to make the practice a curious exploration, not a serious task.
Along with laughter, Yoga also has scientific evidence that it reduces symptoms associated with anxiety and depression.
So essentially the classes I teach are like a dose of feel good medicine for the body and mind.
If this style of practicing Yoga seems interesting and you feel called to check out Livestream classes with me I offer a variety of options 5 days a week AND have an On Demand video library so you can practice with me virtually anytime.
I'm also an Internationally Certified Yoga Therapist, so if interested in learning more about how Yoga practices, principles, and philosophy can support you in your life reach out!
