Yoga for Mental Health

This week I will be sharing mental health benefits of yoga in order to honor World Mental Health Day which is today October 10th. Shine a light on mental health issues and make finding tools to support your mental health a priority. There is no shame in admitting that you need help.


According to an online screening provided by Mental Health America in 2020 the number of people seeking help for anxiety and depression has increased 62% since 2019. This is our pandemic world. Many humans are overstimulated, over worked, and under rested.


Guess what? Yoga practices have been found to support easing symptoms related to anxiety and depression. They assist in regulation of the nervous system which gets people out of "fight or flight stress mode" and into "rest digest mode" aka out of the sympathetic nervous system and into the parasympathetic nervous system.
