Power of Choice

Pictured here: Manipura "lustrous gem" otherwise known as the 3rd chakra, located in the solar plexus. The element is fire, the purpose is transformation and defining the self as a unique individual. This is our power center. Power gets a bad wrap and is often misused in our society. At large, when this power center gets out of hand it becomes "power over" - controlling, arrogant, aggressive and stubborn. Things get off balance which then leads to many feeling powerless seen through weak will, poor self-discipline, passivity and low self-esteem. When balanced however, this energy center is displayed as a strong sense of self, a warmth in personality, self confidence and a healthy relationship with self-discipline. The wisdom found here in Manipura is that each of us inherently has the right to act, to choose and to be an individual. The power comes from within and is about our transformational journey of self-realization, not about control or domination of anything or anyone, including ourselves. It's more about having the courage to stand in your uniqueness. A strong solar plexus also allows for a balance of both strength and surrender, knowing that each is necessary to rise on the spiritual path. Too much fire can ruin ourselves and anyone in our path. Too little fire and the journey may never begin. Just the right amount will lead to enjoyment and enthusiasm on the ride. In order to progress you must choose between conscious or unconscious evolution. What do you choose?
