✨️What is Yoga Therapy?
💜According to the International Association of Yoga Therapists (IAYT) “Yoga Therapy is the professional application of the principles and practices of yoga to promote health and well-being within a therapeutic relationship that includes personalized assessment, goal setting, lifestyle management, and yoga practices for individuals or small groups.”
✨️I am a Certified Yoga Therapist recognized by the IAYT. I currently offer virtual Yoga Therapy sessions.
💜The process of applying yoga practices and principles to one’s life is one that the student must dedicate themselves to because their health, wellness and understanding of who they are is important to them. Yoga Therapy is an investment in yourself, an investment in your growth because you are worth it.
💜I mainly teach Ashtanga Yoga or the 8 Limbed Path (*moral codes, observances, breathwork, poses, sense withdraw, concentration, meditation and connection with Highest Self). I also bring in yoga psychology with information on: chakras, koshas, kleshas, paths of yoga, yogic nutrition and other supports from the ancient tradition that resonate with the students in front of me. I’m trained in Comprehensive Yoga Therapy- meaning I teach that to support overall wellness all aspects of the person must be looked at and nourished: physical, energetic, emotional/sensory, intellect/intuition, and Spirit.
✨️You don’t need to know any of the yogic terms terms mentioned. I attempt to always present the concepts in an easily digestible and applicable way. 💜My style is lighthearted, playful and trauma informed, which seems to also support inner child healing for adults in my presence naturally.
