Pratyahara

This week we will get a little weird.  I will be leading a practice focusing on Pratyahara- translated to mean "sense withdraw." You can think of this as a practice that will soothe your senses. Our senses are typically on overload, keeping us very engaged in the outside world. The magic happens, however, in the inside world. To support ourselves on the journey towards bliss inside we practice the 5th limb of yoga, Pratyahara, to learn how to go inward and not be so distracted by all the stuff going on around us. During such a practice the energy that is usually put towards seeing, feeling, smelling,  tasting and hearing is drawn within.  This is how Yoga takes you deeper into the Self to gain realizations.  Yoga is a physical,  energetic,  emotional,  intellectual and spiritual practice.  How deep you dive is up to you. Pratyahara is a doorway within.  No worries if you don't know what you are doing,  come to class,  close your eyes,  listen with curiosity as I shine a light and point the way. The best way to begin to understand is to enage in an experience and then allow the affects to integrate.  Let's practice going within together.
