Asteya

This week classes will focus on the third Yama, Asteya- non-stealing. This is to be practiced in thought, word and deed. When we steal, or take things that are not freely given (this includes physical items, wishing we had what another possesses, the present moment from ourselves when we get stuck in the past and/or future) it stems from a feeling of not having enough, lack, unworthiness, fear. Yoga philosophy teaches us that everything we need we already have within ourselves. There is no need to want for anything. The challenge is to practice gratitude for all that you have, and to appreciate everything. The ups, the downs, the wins, the losses- they all teach us and it's up to us to do the work to learn the lessons. When we value what we already have our internal experience is more nourishing and lighthearted as we manuver through life on and off the mat.

This week's movement will be playful and fun. The music will assist you through your journey to get away from the chaos and into the moment with your breath and body.
