Spirit Works in Mysterious & Magical Ways

ree

Spirit works in mysterious and magical ways. I call these ways synchronicities — those unexpected repetitions, symbols, patterns, or moments when someone shows up right after you say their name. They remind us that there’s more going on than what our physical eyes can see.

Here is a storytime of a few synchronicities in my life recently…

The 3rd weekend in August, I went to an ecstatic dance festival called Dance Medicine Campout. On the last day of the festival, I moved a pile of my belongings toward the road, which I would be passing by with my car on the way out. I figured it would be a good spot and then left them there to wander the campout festivities. Upon my return, all my things were there except a walking stick (see picture above) that an old friend had let me use for a long time. I was extremely distraught that someone would take the stick, as it was clearly in a pile with all my things. I then spent at least 2–3 hours retracing my steps, asking people if they had seen it, showing pictures of it, and posting in the campout Facebook group about it — and alas, it never turned up. I had a lot of feelings about the loss of this stick, and let’s just say I was stuck on it.

A week later, I went to a 21st birthday party for an old co-worker’s son. At that party, a 3-year-old and I became fast friends. I put two flower leis on her — one around her neck and one on her arm. Later in the party, that 3-year-old approached me and told me she lost one of her flower leis. I asked if she wanted help finding it. So, she and I retraced her steps, looked everywhere, asked everyone, and alas — we never found the lei. I found myself saying to her, “Sometimes we lose things, and it just happens.” The message landed squarely back in my own heart. Spirit has a funny way of teaching us through others.

Fast forward to the 1st weekend in October, when I attended Submersion Festival with a free ticket given to me by my dear friend, my college roommate, who was vending there. I wouldn’t have attended otherwise. During the festival, I ran into some individuals I had made friends with over the summer at other festivals I’d attended, including the one where I lost my walking stick. As I walked up to one of them, she said that her husband was just saying my name, asking how to get in touch with me because he received a spiritual message that he was supposed to carve me a new staff. I was flabbergasted, grateful — and later that weekend we measured my grip for the personalized staff.

Through conversation, it was also decided that I would send him a portion of my Bad Romance Recovery workbook, a part of the addendum called “Yoga Philosophy for Dummies,” because he’s interested in learning more about yogic philosophy and I’m interested in getting feedback on how it comes across to readers — whether it helps them understand the true breadth of what yoga is and how it serves as a path to connect individuals with their Highest Self, the well from which all Eastern religions sprang. (If anyone reading this would like a copy of “Yoga Philosophy for Dummies” in exchange for feedback just email me Veronica@blissfulbutterflyyoga.com, let me know and we can set that up!)

Lastly, during my time with my college roomie at the festival, I talked about how I was volunteering at Ecstatic Dance Philly that Sunday and was in charge of setting up the altar (see pictures above). I mentioned to her that I wanted to talk with the person who runs the dances about leading a warm-up. Then at the dance that Sunday, when I walked into the foyer, I just so happened to enter as the person who runs the dances was in conversation with the person who led the warm-up that week. He asked, “Do you know anyone who could run a warm-up?” and I said, “I can!” And now I’m running the warm-up for the dance this week!

I share all of this because sometimes we get so lost in the world and forget to see magic in ordinary moments that actually turn out to be extraordinary in how they align — perfectly, without effort. That’s how you know it’s of Spirit — synchronistic. Right place, right time, right opportunity, right time.

Things like this happen to me quite frequently, and perhaps they do for you too. Maybe this is your reminder to see the magic and embrace the mystery of Spirit moving through your life. The magic is often right there, but we get stuck under the weight of all the suffering and injustices in the world and clouded by our expectations and judgments about how things should be — instead of focusing on what we can change: our thoughts, words, and actions (or reactions).

It’s in the simple moments filled with ordinary things that we can open our eyes to see the nature of Spirit, recognize it, and name it for what it is — a magical mystery playing out just for us.

If you are finding this on or around 10/9/2025

All of this is leading me to invite you to tap into the beauty of Spirit with me in two ways this weekend.

✨If you need to be reminded of the power of believing in the unseen…

If you need to reconnect with that still, quiet place within…

If you need to remember your connection to nature or move through joy and freedom…If you need inspiration to help you tap into gratitude and childlike wonder…

I’ve got you covered...

Saturday, October 11th at 11:11am — Yoga in the WoodsRancocas Nature Center, Westampton, NJI teach to who shows up. This will be an intuitive, all-levels experience reconnecting with the rhythm of nature — the earth, sky, wind, sun, trees — and your own inner rhythm. I’ll lead you into all the little nooks and crannies that could use a little love in your body, helping you get out of your mind, into the moment and nourish all parts of your being (body, energy/breath, senses/emotions, intellect/intuition, Spirit). We’ll move, breathe, and seek balance, calling in peace and ease to live in harmony with the self and the world around us.

Sunday, October 12th at 10am — Ecstatic Dance Philly Warm-UpLithuanian Music Hall, PhiladelphiaI’ll be leading the warm-up as an intuitive, all-levels experience to help you drop into your body and the present moment — preparing you for the dance itself, a space where you can move freely, shake off the weight of the world, and remember the freedom, joy, and Spirit that move through you. This is movement as prayer, dance as release, and community as medicine. (The location is actually in the neighborhood where I lived when I was born! Another synchronicity!)

Both spaces are family friendly, alcohol free and designed to help you find safety in your body, remember the Spirit flowing through, and not get lost in the purely physical — to come home to the magic, mystery, and synchronicity that are always waiting when we choose to see them.

With love and gratitude,
