How does one practice Ahimsa, nonviolence, cultivation of loving kindness and compassion for every living being? The first step is building awareness of one's internal world and learning how to be nonviolent to the self. Ahimsa is intentionally choosing to combat fear with love. It's about noticing your thoughts, the opinions you hold about yourself/others and letting go of the way you think things "should be. " It's a beautiful and grounding practice of pausing, noticing, allowing and then responding from a centered space with kindness and love in all that you do. When we are in touch with the soul/highest self we act with understanding, patience, kindness, thoughtfulness, love, joy and light. In Yoga Ahimsa is the number one rule above all else! If you are looking for a way to bring more awareness into your life Yoga has many tools. Join me Virtually Monday-Friday. Over the next 10 weeks I will educate students on the key virtues of Yoga and how to bring them into their lives. When overlaying philosophy with breathing, movement and mindfulness techniques it makes the practice that much more nourishing as you feed your intuitive heart! Many people were never taught how to connect with their light inside- which needs time and effort to grow. No time like the present to invest in yourself. Like my first teacher always said- "no one ever said Yoga was easy, but it works!" Let's get to work beautiful beings! 💫pictured here is my new crystal grid from the amazing owner of Live In Joy Yoga 💫 grateful to still be a part of this love filled community yoga studio in our strange new world💫
