About Me
The Blissful Butterfly
Butterflies are symbols of navigating major transitions with grace. My life has been, and continues to be, a metamorphosis through stages of emotional healing, intellectual growth and spiritual development. My main personal goal is to practice self-love for however I show up in any given moment and to release judgement. It's quite the learning experience. I use Yoga lifestyle principles as a flashlight through life's dark patches and puddles. My background in studying/practicing yoga, studying psychology and having had been a child relationship based therapist for many years set up a sturdy foundation which allowed me to transform times of crisis and trauma into awareness, strength and resiliency. What Is Yoga
Yoga is an ancient 8-fold path of knowledge specifically designed to assist in strengthening humans’ individual self-awareness and increase overall vitality. It’s a spiritual path that reminds the individual that they are connected to everyone and everything through a thread of divine love. Yoga provides us with tools to address issues related/not limited to: anxiety, stress, pain, trauma and overall health- physical, energetic, emotional, mental and spiritual. Yoga means to yoke together, union, oneness. Yoga teaches us that we are whole beings and an integrated part of something much larger than ourselves. As you study yoga for longer periods of time you begin to integrate it into all parts of your life, not just on the mat but in the world, to connect with the best version of yourself that exists, your Highest Self.
LIKE THE BUTTERFLY NAVIGATING MAJOR TRANSITIONS WITH GRACE:
THE TIME TO TRANSFORM IS NOW
Yoga invites you to find your love, light and peace from within and remember your connection to all that is. We are in a global shift and being called to awaken. Yoga is an ancient philosophy which lights the way to the Highest Self. We are being asked to remember what is important- taking care of ourselves, our loved ones, our communities, our countries, our continents, our world. Do your individual part. Heal the world by healing yourself. No time like the present to begin your journey. I speak to the flower and star children... to those who know the power found through connection to Spirit.
My Style
As a teacher my approach is colorful, lighthearted, playful, trauma informed and adaptable to all audiences. With a background in relationship-based therapy and Comprehensive Yoga Therapy I meet students where they are at and build from there. In case you are wondering about the names of my group Hatha Yoga Classes- they are named after butterflies!
For the beginner adult student, a strong foundation is laid down. Clear verbal cues are given to guide breathing exercises, mindfulness practices, and yoga poses. The sessions are led at a slow and steady pace. Props are welcomed and encouraged to meet your needs. Learning environment is a safe and nurturing space for you to explore the beginning steps of your yoga journey. Questions and requests welcomed. Virtual hathaclasses recommended: Wednesday's Sleepy Orange Evening class, Thursday's Purple Spotted Morning class, Friday's Clouded Yellow Morning class,. Virtual community gatherings: Monthly Soulhood Circles and Quarterly Soulhood Ritual Burn Ceremonies.
For the seasoned practitioner who is looking to improve health and connect to their Highest Self- yoga philosophy is sewn into classes with an aim to bring awareness to how you can bring yoga off the mat and into your life in a more meaningful way. A well-balanced practice for body, energy, mind and spirit. Typically includes a steady pace. Options to take your postures up a notch or down a notch. Expect breathing, centering, warming, peak, arm balance options, inversion options, relaxation. Questions and requests welcome. All classes suitable. Physical challenges offered in Monday’s Adonis Blue Evening and Tuesday’s Red Admiral Morning classes
For the child yogis expect silliness, love, breathing, movement and relaxation.
The practice is meant to meet the child where they are at and build from there. In a round about way children can learn how to regulate their nervous systems through breathing and movement. Yoga assists children with learning that that it is ok to slow down sometimes and reminds them that they are connected to all of nature around them.

“True yoga is not about the shape of your body, but the shape of your life. Yoga is not to be performed; yoga is to be lived. Yoga doesn’t care about what you have been; yoga cares about the person you are becoming. Yoga is designed for a vast and profound purpose, and for it to be truly called yoga, its essence must be embodied.”
