This week in my classes it's going to be all about the 3rd Step in the Yoga 8 Fold Path- Asana: translated to mean "a comfortable seat." Asanas were originally designed to assist individuals in being able to sit comfortably for meditation to reach Union with the Divine, which is the final step in the Yoga path. Asana are the poses that the typical person thinks of when they hear the word "Yoga". The first 2 steps of the Yoga Path address ethical guidelines for your relationship with yourself and the world- then the poses enter. This means- how you treat yourself/mindset in the yoga poses is important. It's not about how far you fold or how long you hold. Its about staying steady in the moment no matter the challenge and learning about yourself through the process of honoring the body. I will be talking about this stuff in classes and throughout the week as I feel inspired. Let's move together this week and have some fun as we enter Spring.
