Magnificent Mess

It took me a long time to truly love myself, mostly stemming from rooted trauma in my brain through the earliest years of my human development.  Yoga was a huge part in my healing process. It took almost 20 years but I have finally cultivated the ability to understand my triggers and to work with them as "grist of the mill for my awakening" Ram Dass reference. It's not easy being a human.  It's not all rainbows and butterflies all the time. The rainbows only appear after the storms. Also did you know that in order for a caterpillar to turn into a butterfly it must first completely fall apart into mush? AND did you know that a butterfly must fight its own way out of It's chrysalis in order to become strong enough to fly?! If anyone interferes with the emerging the butterfly will die. Each of us on a spiritual path literally falls a part and has to learn how to let it happen and then stay steadily connected to our intuitive hearts knowing that there is something much larger behind all of it and let Divine nature take its course without running away from the darkness,  but by facing it.  After the falling apart and emerging most of us then want to share something with the world to make it a better place.  I share yoga philosophy and practices, joy, light, love, inspiration, play and truth. The truth is our human minds are a magnificent mess. Yoga philosophy calls the messiness in the mind Hindrances of the Mind or the Kleshas. There are 5 of these hindrances that cloud our mind and dim our shine. The only way to transmute these things into wisdom is to shine the light of awareness on them. For the next 5 weeks in classes I will be talking about these Kleshas, what they are, how they show up and then you get to start to see how they play out in your mind and life. Details below on how to join me virtually for philosophy enriched hatha yoga classes.  My style is lighthearted,  playful and trauma informed.
