Egoism Explored

Updated: Jan 16, 2022

This week's philosophy theme will be the 2nd Klesha or "Hindrance of the Mind" written about in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali, which is Asmita or Egoism. Each human being has an ego or a sense of "I-ness." The problem with identifying with only the "I-ness" is that it leads to a sense of separation. The Ego fails to identify with the true Self/Spirit and dwells in individual differences which leads to internal suffering guided by judgments and drives a wedge between beings. When the ego leads a being forgets that differences are a part of the beauty of nature, when the true Self leads a being inherently remembers that we are all connected.  If this sounds interesting come explore this idea with me this week while I guide you through hatha yoga practices. Full weekly virtual schedule has something available for everyone beginners to advanced students.  See website for details. Monday class details below.  Also practice anytime with On Demand video library options.  My style is lighthearted,  playful and trauma informed.
